In The Office

The office of the Judge of Probate provides primary contact for residents of Limestone County who may need the following services:

  • Administration of estates,
  • Adoptions,
  • Change of names,
  • Conservatorships,
  • Corporation recordings,
  • Deed and title searches,
  • Guardianships,
  • Marriage licenses,
  • Notary Public applications,
  • Involuntary commitments,
  • Real property recordings,
  • Testamentary wills.

The numerous duties of the office are assigned by the Code of Alabama, 1975. By law the Judge of Probate is also the chief election officer for Limestone County.

Since 1983, Judge Michael L. Davis has served as the Judge of Probate in Limestone County. Judge Davis has embraced the use of new technology in providing services to all residents which includes optical scanning equipment in elections and recording documents. Even with the advancement of the tools of technology, Judge Davis recognizes the value of personal service and enjoins his staff in providing a positive experience with all visitors to the office whether your visit is in person, by phone or by the internet.
